In Springfield, Missouri, a family tragedy unfolded over more than a year. A father died after weeks of unexplained illness. Months later, his son was dead, too. Then another daughter was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
At first, the deaths appeared unrelated to anything criminal. But behind the scenes, a disturbing secret was hiding inside the Staudte family home.
At the center of the case were Diane Staudte and her daughter Rachel Staudte — a mother and daughter whose involvement in a series of poisonings would shock investigators and the public.
