To paraphrase that great man of peace Mahatma Gandhi, history always shows that the way of truth and love conquers evil. They’re words worth remembering as we commemorate 20 years since the Bali bombings. In October 2002, terrorists deliberately targeting westerners blew up two packed nightclubs in the tourist hub of Kuta. It was a horror that killed 202 innocent people, including 88 Australians, and seriously injured hundreds more. The murderers caused mayhem that awful night, but they didn’t come close to claiming any sort of victory because they ignored a simple fact: their cowardly act could never match their victims’ courage.
