there was a tim when criminal gangs kept their dirty business  to themselves but over  the last few years what only can be cakked a war has exploded .

with crime families and outlaw motorcycle gangs fighting to the death of  control of

a billion drug trade

increasingly caught in the cross fire, innocent men , women and even children .

tonight  we’ll take you inside a top secret police operation that’s part of the fightback a treasure trove of encrypted messages including orders to kill .

revealing this bloody gang war is deliberate and directed.

the criminal  underworld was once another world  to ours  a place where bad  guys killed bad guys

but left ther rest of us- alone.

tonight we’ll track how gangland vendettas have turned into all at  war

spiraling violence spilling into the suburbs

now few are safe.

when bullets fly..

mayhem and destruction over a drug trade

worth billions.

most of us are still surpised at the brazen way drug gangs  operate , the shootings  day or night doesn’t matter.

attacks  on houses

attacks on individuals in broad daylight

there’s a complete  disregard for public safety it’s a complete disregard  for the community  and is also about  dominance and intimidation .

later in our exclusive report austrialian federal police takes us inside  a recent top secret  police operation

that cracked gang  communication .

what the killers are actually saying to each  other.

they uncover for this one  50 threats  to life and those threats to life are threats to harm like serious.

the deadly players  in this gang war are now are chillingly familiar.

crime families, like the hamsy’s and alameddine’s and the outlaw motorcycle gangs including the most feared  the comchreros and the hells angels.

their deadly confrontation at sydney airport in 2009 was the first time the gang war went public. it was prpbably  the sidney airport brawl that really made  everybody realize just how brazen crime gangs  are willing to be these  days.

two rivals bikers meet by chance in Melbourne flying  back to sidney, both call for reinforcements on  arrival, the quantis domestic terminal is teaning with travelings.

this never be broadcast  before,  mobile  phone footage  captures what happens next

it’s hard to make out but amidst  all the chaos of the full scale brawl – a murder is being committed.

Hells angels biky anthony zervas

is being bashed and stabbed  to death.

comanchero boss mahmoud ” mick” Hawi was convicted of the murder reduced to manslaughter on appeal and realeased in  2015.but in the vicious cycle of  payback in the burgeonig  gang war, hawi was always marked for death

 14 february 2018

one afternoon hawi goes to his gym  down in his local area of rockdale and  as he comes out and gets in his car about to drive  off  a gunman runs up to the driver side door and just  unloads into the driver seat and shoots  hawi dead. to that point it’s arguably the biggest gangland execution sydney  had.

going way back, do you ever really leave the gang, you leave it in three ways;grow up, grow out ,get killed or go to jail well of course that came true to hawi.

the person one of the people involved that was charged  with being involved in the shooting of  hawi himself gets  out of jail  for other unrelated offense to the murder and then gets gun down himself in the middle of the city.

there’s no glamour in living  by the sword  die by the sword

comanchero boss  mick hawi ‘s public execution in  2018 was eclipsed two years later by another biky murder even more brazen.

2020 , nick martin was boss of the rebels gang in perth. he became  a target

bashed in public in one occasion ,martins luck finally and sectacularly ran out….

sitting with his family a the drag races he ws murdered by a sniper with a single shot from a high-powered  rifle from over 300 m  away.

martins funural procession featured a  casket covered with 100  dollar bills.

nick martin  had many enemies even inside his own rank, but in death the biky appears to be larger than life.

it’s probably the most audacious killing in the history of the gang wars.

the shooter, who was an ex- soldier was  eventually  arrested  he’ done the hit for a 100, 000 dollars .

the ever escalating gang war  sometimes covers a death toll that rises by the day.

you got 25 bodies on the  street.

innocent people

longtime underworld figures

members of gangs crime  families

it’s calculated and if you look at the  milliona od milliona of  dollars that police have  hd to put  into fighting it  there’s no doubt that it’s a war.

and it’s a war where  every underworld code is being broken targeting not just gang members but women, putting the public even children  in the line of fire.

november the 29th 2020  these four men are about to enter the local gym in sydney’s west ,suddenly there’s  a volley of shots. what happens next is truly terrifying.

next to the gym is a child car center .

the bullets came within millimeters of the children playing inside

in a mark of just how brazen and uncaring this war has become ,the shooter slowly and calmly drive vy to  check how  their attempted hit  has gone.

living  their  stolen car  burn out a few suburbs away.

police often talk about the rule book of the underworld, supposedly existed back in the day where there was a.. i guess its bit of an honor amongs thieves  , there was  a code  and if there  was any  doubt that  no longer  existed  it’s probably best shown  that it  was gone in in late 2022.two women  were  shot dead as they were about to head off to  a night out together

2022

Lametta Fadlallah, left, and Amy Hazouri

it was around 8 : 50 p.m. the women was sitting  in the back seat about to be taken to a party in the front a20 -year old  male driver.a 16 year old girl   beside him.

in the criminal world  lametta fadlallah is  someone  who has known really  well to the police probably the best way to describe her as a female gangster, she was somebody who rolled with a lot of  underworld figures.

she’d been married  married previously to a couple of underworld  figures, she was considered somebody who would carry a gun, she  could get your weapons  she was a bit of a person who was able to source things for people in the underworld.

ignoring the pair  in the front seats , the killer’s target was clearly  Lametta but  Amy Hazouri would not be spared .and whether he knew which one was which or just knew that one  of them was definitely his target  didn’t matter because essentially he and this  other come of sprayed the whole back seat with blood stain  and cut both women down just like that.

if there was any doubt  that this  out -of – control – gang war is growing ever more heartless

it comes when we’re given exlusive access to one of the most  extrodinary australian federal police operations in in recen times.

called operation kraken , it seized 38 gang members,25 weapons

and over 200 kg of drugs

and 1.2 million dollars in cash.

but there was another prize that was far far more valuable to investigators.

operation kraken successfully shut down  an encrypted criminal communications network called Ghost, incredibly this high- tech app  used by hundreds of organiz drug gangs in australia and around the world

was run by a  mannered tech whiz  who still lived at home with his parents.

breaking this unlikely  alliance between murderous criminals  and a  computer geek yielded a treasure trove of information.

this is one of the  phones that they seized during  operation  kraken which  has got the  ghost application  embedded on this phone – and looks like a normal phone.

yep, normal phone, camera in the back  and what you can see  in here -just bearing in mind that this was a device sees during operation kraken , so it’s evidence.

but what we see in here is we see the chats , we see  any images that they’ve sent or received, videos it’s their communications is what we get  in the phone . this phone was in a hand of one  of the criminal gang before  the federal police got it.

what the criminals were actually saying to each other in heir ghost messages is proof positive the terrible bloodshed of the gang war is deliberate and directed.

so it was  things from aggravated robberies to assaults to actually threats to kill, domestic violence .

the federal police  were able to intervene on all  occassions.killings were prrevented- this time.but australians shouldbe terrified about  what may be coming next overseas as well as high- tech communication  networks gangs are developing cruel new weapons of war.

Dutch police recently uncovered this ganngland  hideout they found a torture chamber inside a converted shippong container, complete with dentist chair.

pliers ,handcuffs and scalpels

NEXT

We take you deep inside  a recent gangland crime  that involves kidnap, torture and a 30 million dollar ransom.

it’s 3 :00 a.m  june 1st 2021, police are called to a home in sydnieyäs western suburbs.

 Dillan Mancuso
biky dillan mancuso has been kidnapped at gun point by a gang who broke their way into his family home.mancuso  clearly has enemies and right now police have no idea why he’s been taken and who is holding him.
and  then later that night a photo comes thrue , a photo that was sent back to his associates  as part of the extortion attempt of  these kidnappers and they essentially say pay this money or we’ll kill him
the kidnappers make an incredible  ransom demand.they  tried to extort him for ransom for tens of  millions of dollars
while beating him and esentially  torturing him .
what the kidnapperes don’t know that the police have tracked their messages to an  area around  an industrial complex in sidney’s southwest suburb of revesby, over the  next frantic hours investigators try to zero on the gang’s precise location while mancuso’s life hangs in the balance.
finally – the breakthrough  a heavily armed  police unite dramatically arrest one of the gang , it’s the parkinglot of a warehouse in in the industrial complex.
suddenly smoke billows from a window, the kidnappers have set the warehouse on fire.
minutes later they’re captured but where is mancuso?in the frenzy of arrests there’s an explosion inside the building
then a triumph for police  but a very undignified resue for mancuso  walking to safety in his own underwear. but at least his  alive the most improbable outcome in  these deadly gang wars.
inside police find charred phones and  destroyed money counting machines meant to tally up
the 30 million ransom the kidnappers expected.
but that astonishingamount is small chall change in the billions  being made  by  the drug gangs.
when gang leaders are brought to justice the assets police  sees reveal grotesquely lavish lifestyles or paid for  with blood  money
the way these drug lords for  one of better term ,flaunting their wealth is quite extraordinary.
Almost like they rub it in your face
some of the luxery that we seen luxury, boats ,planes  the watches
with all the extra diamonds put on  .
it’s a real high profit margin organized crime you can source a kilo of cocaine for 3.000 dollar in south america.
which you would then sell in australia for up to 200,000 dollars, so  you markup is extraordinary and same for methamphetamine. so with that amount of profit  incentive that’s why they take the risk.-high risk high return.
and it’s not just the drug lords  that  law enforcement in australia and arouund the world have to deal with .
it’s equally criminal and often  equally  money laundering  gangs that move all that cash into  legitimate Enterprises.
you will actually have money laundering organizations and their sole  purpuse is to move money foe organized crime groups.
this are groups set up purely to move illicit founds around the world so the criminal entities can actually  access  their wealth.
The AFP operation recently wound up  an australian money laundering gang with a staggering array of drug money investments.
so the syndicate was making say 10% profit austria police  actaully seized from that syndicate 155 million in property that included a four  commercial premises in sydney CBD.
it included 47 hectares of land  out  near badgery’s creek
as part of  their property portfolio in  addition to hat 35 million in crypto .
rembember all that  was just  10% made by the money laundering gang.
as we know in any kind of business when it is a lucrative market  it becomes competitive and the trouble is that with drugs and the underworld itäs not only competitive but it becomes deadly.
what we know is that fueling all the violence behind all the killings, the kidnaps, targeting of innocents and the public increasingly being caught in the deadly crossfire of this drug war
is the insatiable demand ordinary australians have for drugs and how much  we’ll pay  to get them.

that is the big thing  ,why  do australians have such a high demand  for drugs?

one of  issues that  australian police  sruggling with is particularly  cocaine and the demand is there

there is no more vicious  cycle then the supply and demand of the drug trade and the truth of that means this could be a war without  end.
while the  drug market is this  profitable and australia’sappetite for drugs is  this insatiable there’s alway’s going to be  somebody  looking to make money from that market .and with that is going to come violence tha’ts just  the nature of that game.
the police admit that no matter how many millions of dollars  and  how much  resources they put into cracking down on  organized crime there is always going to be conflict and  inevitably it’s going to end  up being deadly.
