The stepdad of a Mississippi teen sentenced to life over the shooting death of her mom says he still loves the 15-year-old. Heath Smylie even mouthed “I love you” as she wept in court. Her stepdad was a key prosecution witness against the teen. However, he’s now raising money for her appeal. Smylie also still speaks with her whenever he can.

they continue to communicate with each other almost on daily basis.so far they just appear to be talking about what’s going on , they love for each other and things like that.-again the prosecutor don’t undestand it but people process trauma in such different ways.

then she calmly waited for her stepfather to come back she even tried to lure him by pretending to be her mom
when her stepfather came home she shot him too.
he was wounded in the shoulder but still had the strength to call 911
and he helps cops to find his killer’s stepdaughter who was on the run .caarly was captured after just a half an hour .
despite his brush with death ,her stepdad doesn’t want her to spend the rest of her life in prison.
