David Russell Hosier (69) is scheduled to be executed in Missouri on June 11, 2024. Hosier was convicted and sentenced to death for the 2009 murder of his ex-lover, Angela Gilpin. He was also charged with killing Angela’s husband, Rodney Gilpin, but was not convicted for that murder, even though both bodies were found together.
UPDATE (JUNE 11, 2024): David Hosier was executed this evening in Missouri. His official time of death was 6:11pm local time.
Two days ago, Hosier provided a final written statement, which were quotes from the Bible, that was distributed to the media. In it he wrote: “6. For I am already being poured out as a drink offering and the time of my departure is at hand. 7. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day. – 2 Timothy 4:6.7.8.” –
Prior to that, Hosier also spoke with a spiritual advisor who later provided the media with statements he said were written by Hosier that maintained his claims of innocence. – There is no clarification at this time of Hosier’s last words, if any, from the execution chamber. – Hosier ate his last meal at 11:00am consisting of steak, baked potato, Texas toast, apple pie, milk and orange juice.
