The incident in Edmond, Oklahoma, began after emergency dispatchers received multiple frantic emergency services calls. Callers reported a silver pickup truck intentionally hitting vehicles, plowing through barricades, and attempting to ram other motorists.
When a patrolling officer located the suspect, the situation rapidly escalated into a chase. During the pursuit, Sgt. Wells was struck directly by the truck and thrown 50 feet into a ravine.
