A True Crime Documentary on the murder of Nick Vetecnik featuring Rowdy Lee Aguilar.
On May 26, 2021, 15-year-old Nick Vetecnik went missing after hanging out with his 17-year-old friend, Rowdy Lee Aguilar. Vetecnik was stabbed 26 times inside a utility trailer, and his body was subsequently dismembered.
Aguilar’s own father discovered the victim’s remains inside the trailer on his property and immediately called emergency services, leading to Aguilar’s swift arrest.
When initially questioned about the severe cuts and massive amounts of blood on his hands and clothing, Aguilar claimed he had sustained the injuries while chopping up “barbecue ribs” for a family cookout. Surveillance footage and bloody footprints quickly dismantled his story.
Aguilar pleaded guilty to aggravated murder. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. Because he was a minor at the time of the crime, he is serving the initial portion of his sentence in a secure juvenile facility until he turns 25, at which point he will be transferred to an adult state prison.
