Teen Allegedly Tied to Tree, Beaten and Strangled to Death

Dominic Pilgreen, 26, and Nathan Reichard, 15, made a court appearance on Monday. The pair face multiple charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, physical abuse of a child and hiding a corpse, in the death of Payton Vertz, 16. Vertz was tied to a tree, beaten, and strangled to death before his clothes were burned and his body dumped into a river, according to criminal complaints. Though Reichard is only 15, in Wisconsin, those aged 10-16 charged with most homicide counts are charged in adult court.
