When responding officers conducted a welfare check, the driver initially claimed that he had hit a deer and that the animal was inside the car. However, upon shining a flashlight into the front passenger seat, the officer quickly realized that the object was not a deer, but rather the severely mutilated dead body of a human pedestrian that had been thrown through the windshield during the high-speed impact.
The driver struck a pedestrian on an area highway in Dallas, impacting them with such force that the victim’s body broke through the front windshield and landed directly in the passenger seat.
Instead of stopping to render aid or notify emergency services, the driver continued to operate the heavily damaged vehicle for approximately 40 miles until pulling over at a Jack in the Box restaurant in White Settlement.
An emergency call reporting a severely mangled vehicle brought law enforcement to the scene. The bodycam footage captures the exact moment the officer realizes the driver’s “deer” claim is false and exclaims to fellow officers that a human body is resting in the front seat.
