In February 2020, Anna Primavere went missing under suspicious circumstances. Courtney Gibson had been hired to stay at the home as a babysitter for a child living at the residence. When police initially visited the home to conduct a welfare check on Primavere, they noticed that a mattress from her bedroom was missing. Investigators later discovered a burned mark on the ground nearby, where Gibson had burned the mattress to destroy evidence.
Gibson fled the area but was tracked down by law enforcement to Lebanon, Tennessee, where she eventually turned herself in. Upon searching Gibson’s vehicle, police discovered Primavere’s decomposing body hidden inside the trunk. Gibson was taken into custody and faced charges including first-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
